HELLO, MY NAME IS

Abel is a “I’m just happy to be here” kinda guy who gets along with everyone and loves everything. He’s a sweet, squishy ball of joy that enjoys going on walks, playing with toys, going on car rides, and being with people. And he’s housetrained!

If Abel could talk, he would have QUITE the story to tell! First off, he would tell you that his wobbly head and legs don’t bother him at all and he sees himself as a perfectly normal dog. It’s called Hypoplasia, which means his cerebellum didn’t completely develop. All that means for his adopter is that he needs a little help being held up to walk (see video) and he gets extra wobbly when he’s very excited or around a lot of noise (so maybe no younger kids).

Believe it or not, Abel was originally impounded into the shelter after ingesting meth and his owner was arrested. He had to stay there for almost a year while the investigation went on. Our friends at The Little Red Dog FINALLY got him out in December and now he’s ready for his new life to begin!

We are helping our friends at The Little Red Dog in finding Abel a home, so let us know if you’d like to set up an introduction!
