Dottie is the definition of a gentle spirit. This incredibly mellow senior girl has been through more than most dogs ever should, but she’s come out the other side with quiet strength and a heart full of love to give.

When we met Dottie at the shelter, she was gravely ill with pneumonia—weak, tired, and running out of time. She was immediately hospitalized and spent a full week receiving around-the-clock care. It was a tough battle, and there were moments we weren’t sure she’d pull through. But Dottie had other plans. This girl is a fighter. Even at her lowest, she made it clear she wasn’t ready to give up. She still had more life to live.

Now out of the hospital and resting in a wonderful foster home, Dottie is continuing her recovery and showing us all just how special she is. She’s calm, quiet, and content to simply be near you. She’s the kind of dog who reminds you to slow down and appreciate the little things—a cozy blanket, a sunny spot by the window, and a gentle hand to pet her.

Dottie is ready for her forever. She doesn’t need much—just a safe, loving home where she can feel cherished and comfortable for the rest of her golden years.
